Job Description
A reputable organization is seeking a proactive and tech-savvy individual to join its team as a Cybersecurity Operations Intern. This internship offers hands-on exposure to core cybersecurity operations, compliance processes, and scripting automation in a professional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in updating the control-evidence library within the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) platform.
- Participate in mock audit walkthroughs to learn and understand control-testing procedures.
- Support ad-hoc security projects, including basic research and implementation of automated scripts using Python or PowerShell.
- Work collaboratively with IT/security teams to improve incident response, log analysis, and general system monitoring.
Candidate Requirements:
- BSc or HND in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of general IT experience (e.g., help desk support, system administration, IT/network support).
- Familiarity with networking protocols and services (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs) and administration of Windows and/or Linux systems.
- Understanding of fundamental cybersecurity concepts such as authentication, encryption, intrusion detection, and log monitoring.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Fundamentals) will be an added advantage.
- Any practical experience, coursework, or projects involving cybersecurity, scripting, or cloud computing is a plus.
