Job Description

Carbon Nigeria is hiring a Data and Automation Engineer to support its Business Intelligence function. This role focuses on building scalable data pipelines, enabling advanced analytics, and supporting data science and BI teams with reliable, well-structured data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and test data infrastructure that powers dashboards and machine learning models
  • Design, build, and optimize data pipelines to ensure efficient data flow across systems
  • Run complex queries, manipulate DBMS environments, and manage structured and unstructured data
  • Implement feature generation scripts and support machine learning model development
  • Build, test, and troubleshoot APIs and endpoints for data integration across internal systems
  • Expose transformed and curated data to downstream tools and platforms

Requirements
Is this you?

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or related disciplines
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in data engineering, automation, or a similar role
  • Strong experience with object-oriented or functional programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, or Scala
  • Advanced working knowledge of SQL and experience writing complex queries
  • Hands-on experience with both relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases
  • Proven experience designing, building, and testing API integrations
  • Experience building and managing data pipelines
  • Familiarity with ETL tools such as Talend, SSIS, Pentaho, or similar platforms
