Introduction:
Benin Electricity Distribution Plc (BEDC), a leading electricity distribution company in Nigeria, is seeking a qualified and experienced Desktop Engineering Technologist to support and maintain desktop infrastructure, ensure optimal system performance, and provide technical support for end users. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to perform in a high-pressure environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and troubleshoot desktop systems and hardware to ensure smooth operations.
- Provide technical support to staff, resolving hardware and software issues promptly.
- Install, configure, and update desktop applications and operating systems.
- Monitor system performance and implement necessary improvements for optimal efficiency.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to support larger infrastructure projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of proven experience in a similar role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and general desktop support tools.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
