Job Description

Codelabprojects Nigeria Limited is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer (Instrumentation & Control) to join its Research and Development unit. This role is suited for a high-performing graduate with strong technical foundations and an interest in applying AI, machine learning, and advanced electrical engineering practices within upstream oil and gas and related technical environments.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test electrical and instrumentation systems to meet functional and performance requirements.
  • Apply AI techniques, including machine learning and pattern recognition, to improve electrical system performance and innovation.
  • Develop, prototype, and program electronic circuits using Arduino and other microcontroller platforms.
  • Design and optimize printed circuit boards (PCBs) using industry-standard PCB design tools.
  • Produce electrical schematics and detailed system designs using AutoCAD.
  • Analyze and visualize technical and operational data using Power BI to support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, and other technical teams to integrate electrical components into complete systems.
  • Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and validation of developed systems and tools.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with a First Class or Second Class Upper (2:1) only; Master’s degree is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience or strong knowledge of AI applications, including machine learning and pattern recognition.
  • Proficiency in Arduino programming and hands-on electronic circuit design and prototyping.
  • Practical experience in PCB design and layout optimization.
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD for electrical schematics and system design.
  • Experience using Power BI for data analysis and visualization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and interest in innovative and emerging technologies.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with additional microcontroller platforms and hardware development tools.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB, Simulink, or similar simulation tools.
  • Knowledge of IoT systems and electrical system integration.
  • Understanding of electrical safety standards and relevant industry regulations.
  • Hands-on experience building and testing electronic components.
