Job Description

ZOA is an international relief and recovery organization working in fragile states to support vulnerable people affected by conflict and natural disasters. In Nigeria, operations began in December 2016, focusing on internally displaced persons and returnees affected by insurgency in the Northeast. The organization currently runs programs in Borno State covering food security, livelihoods, WASH, and education. An experienced evaluator is needed to conduct a comprehensive, mixed-methods end-line evaluation of the Canadian Foodgrain Bank Project.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement focus group discussions (FGDs) and key informant interviews (KIIs) guided by the project’s learning framework.
  • Conduct participatory gender analysis and document significant change stories with participants and stakeholders.
  • Analyze qualitative data from FGDs, KIIs, gender analysis, and change stories, and align findings with quantitative survey results.
  • Produce a detailed evaluation report assessing the project’s outcomes, impact, and progress toward gender equality and community resilience.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in International Rural Development, Agricultural Sciences, Social Sciences, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of proven experience leading evaluations of humanitarian food assistance, food security, or livelihoods projects.
  • Strong background in humanitarian and early recovery contexts in Borno State, with expertise in gender equality and empowerment.
  • Excellent analytical, report writing, interpersonal, and communication skills; fluency in English required, with Hausa and/or Bura as an advantage.
