Job Description

A reputable company in the chemical manufacturing sector is seeking a skilled Factory Operations Manager to oversee plant operations in Sagamu, Ogun State. The role involves managing production processes, improving operational efficiency, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and coordinating plant resources to maintain consistent and cost-effective manufacturing output.

Location: Sagamu, Ogun
Salary: N800,000 – N1,000,000 monthly
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the manufacturing plant to ensure production targets, efficiency levels, and quality standards are achieved.
  • Monitor and improve production processes to increase plant capacity utilization and reduce operational losses.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
  • Coordinate preventive and predictive maintenance activities to ensure reliability of plant equipment and utilities.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations within the chemical production environment.
  • Work closely with procurement and logistics teams to ensure the availability of raw materials for uninterrupted production.
  • Manage plant budgets, operational costs, and resource allocation to maintain cost-effective operations.
  • Lead and supervise plant teams including production, maintenance, quality assurance, and warehouse personnel.
  • Monitor plant performance metrics and provide operational reports to senior management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • MBA or postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
  • 8–10 years of experience in chemical or process manufacturing environments.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a senior plant or operations leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of process manufacturing systems, industrial automation, and production planning.
  • Proven experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or TPM frameworks.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and operational management skills.
