Factory / Production Manager (Mechanical Engineer)

Job Description

A manufacturing and recycling facility in Ogun State is seeking an experienced Factory / Production Manager with a strong Mechanical Engineering background. This role is fully onsite and suited to professionals with proven experience managing continuous 24/7 factory operations, particularly within recycling or high-capacity manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

• The Factory / Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end production activities and ensuring smooth, efficient factory operations. Key duties include:
• Managing round-the-clock production operations on a continuous Sunday night to Sunday morning cycle.
• Overseeing recycling line machinery including extruders, shredders, washers, dryers, and related equipment.
• Leading mechanical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and performance optimization of machines.
• Supervising production supervisors, machine operators, and shift teams across day and night shifts.
• Driving process improvement initiatives to reduce downtime, improve efficiency, and increase output.
• Ensuring strict adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and operational compliance.
• Providing rapid-response operational support, including living onsite or very close to the factory.

Requirements

• Interested candidates must meet the following criteria:
• BSc in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a senior factory or production management role.
• Strong hands-on experience with recycling lines or similar continuous-operation manufacturing plants.
• Proven ability to manage rotating shifts, including night operations and emergency response situations.
• Excellent leadership, mechanical problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Candidates residing in or around Atan, Ota, Sango-Ota, Iju, Lusada, Agbara, or Ifo are strongly encouraged to apply.

Nice to Have

• PMP or PE certification.
• Experience in plastics, polymers, packaging, paper manufacturing, or recycling operations.
