Farm Manager – Swine Operations
Job Description
An established agricultural company is seeking a qualified Farm Manager to oversee the daily operations of a large-scale swine farm located in Abeokuta. This position requires strong expertise in piggery management, animal welfare, and farm operations, with regular coordination with the Lagos office for reporting and strategic input. The ideal candidate is hands-on, results-driven, and capable of managing both livestock and staff effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily piggery operations including breeding, farrowing, weaning, and finishing
- Implement strict biosecurity protocols and manage herd health
- Supervise and train farm staff, ensuring productivity and safety
- Manage feed supplies, medication plans, and farm infrastructure maintenance
- Maintain detailed farm records and liaise with the Lagos office on strategy and reporting
Requirements:
- A degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, Veterinary Medicine, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years experience managing a pig farm (500+ sows preferred)
- Strong knowledge of swine nutrition, breeding, and disease control
- Familiarity with farm record-keeping software (e.g., FarmMan, AgriWebb)
- Must reside near Abeokuta or be able to commute reliably; regular travel to Lagos required
