Medecins du Monde (MdM), an international humanitarian organization, is seeking a Finance Assistant to support its operations in Abuja. The role is essential to ensuring accurate cash management, proper accounting practices, and administrative support in line with MdM and donor standards. This opportunity is ideal for candidates passionate about humanitarian work and financial integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage cash payments and petty cash under the supervision of the Finance Officer
- Enter accounting data into the system and verify all receipts for eligibility and compliance
- Assist with monthly account closings and maintain proper financial records and archives
- Support administrative tasks including filing, scanning, and coordination of logistics for trainings or meetings
Requirements:
- A degree (BA/BSc/HND) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in an NGO or international organization
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., SAGA) is an added advantage
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to handle sensitive information
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, especially in emergency situations
