Geologist (Mining) at Emerging Mining Company (via Recruit Management)
Job Description
An emerging mining company is expanding its field operations and is seeking a skilled and experienced Geologist to support exploration and resource development activities. This role is ideal for professionals with strong field expertise and a solid understanding of mineral exploration within Nigeria’s geological landscape.
Location: Nasarawa & Plateau
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: N500,000 / month
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct geological mapping, sampling, and detailed field surveys
- Supervise and execute exploration programs including trenching, drilling, and pitting
- Analyze geological data and prepare accurate technical reports
- Interpret results from XRF, geophysical, and geochemical surveys
- Identify mineralization zones and estimate resource potential
- Collaborate with mining engineers on mine planning and development
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
- Maintain accurate geological records and GIS/database systems
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology or Applied Geology
- 5–10 years of experience in mineral exploration, preferably within Nigeria
- Strong knowledge of pegmatite and vein-type deposits (tin, tantalite, Pb-Zn preferred)
- Experience with GPS tools, GIS software (ArcGIS/QGIS), and geological modeling tools
- Familiarity with handheld XRF analyzers and standard sampling techniques
- Ability to work effectively in remote field environments
- Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting skills
