Job Description

Polaris Digitech Limited is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical GIS Data Analyst with strong expertise in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Python programming. This role focuses on transforming spatial and non-spatial data into meaningful insights that support strategic and operational decision-making across projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, validate, and analyze spatial and non-spatial data from multiple sources
  • Perform spatial analysis and create maps, layers, and visualizations using GIS tools such as ArcGIS and QGIS
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain Python scripts to automate geospatial data processing and analysis
  • Interpret analytical results and present insights through reports, dashboards, and presentations
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical teams to support data-driven initiatives
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across geospatial datasets
  • Conduct geospatial modeling and statistical analysis to solve complex location-based problems
  • Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies within datasets and provide actionable recommendations
  • Document workflows, methodologies, and processes to support reproducibility and knowledge sharing

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geology, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • 2–3 years of hands-on experience in GIS data analysis and Python programming
  • Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS and QGIS
  • Strong Python skills for data manipulation and analysis, including Pandas, NumPy, and GeoPandas
  • Experience working with spatial databases such as PostGIS or SQLite, including SQL querying
  • Practical knowledge of database management and data structures
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of remote sensing techniques and satellite imagery analysis
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud for data storage and processing
  • Experience with web mapping technologies including Leaflet or Mapbox
  • Understanding of statistical and machine learning techniques applied to geospatial data
