Job Description
Polaris Digitech Limited is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical GIS Data Analyst with strong expertise in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Python programming. This role focuses on transforming spatial and non-spatial data into meaningful insights that support strategic and operational decision-making across projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, validate, and analyze spatial and non-spatial data from multiple sources
- Perform spatial analysis and create maps, layers, and visualizations using GIS tools such as ArcGIS and QGIS
- Develop, optimize, and maintain Python scripts to automate geospatial data processing and analysis
- Interpret analytical results and present insights through reports, dashboards, and presentations
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical teams to support data-driven initiatives
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across geospatial datasets
- Conduct geospatial modeling and statistical analysis to solve complex location-based problems
- Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies within datasets and provide actionable recommendations
- Document workflows, methodologies, and processes to support reproducibility and knowledge sharing
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geology, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience in GIS data analysis and Python programming
- Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS and QGIS
- Strong Python skills for data manipulation and analysis, including Pandas, NumPy, and GeoPandas
- Experience working with spatial databases such as PostGIS or SQLite, including SQL querying
- Practical knowledge of database management and data structures
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of remote sensing techniques and satellite imagery analysis
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud for data storage and processing
- Experience with web mapping technologies including Leaflet or Mapbox
- Understanding of statistical and machine learning techniques applied to geospatial data
