Job Summary
ExxonMobil is seeking a highly motivated and capable Graduate Wells Engineer to join its Drilling and Completions department in Lagos. This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in well design, planning, and execution while developing technical and operational expertise in a world-class energy company. The role may include international travel and offshore assignments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the design, planning, and execution of drilling, completion, and well intervention projects.
- Develop drilling and completion programs including schematics, casing/tubing design, and equipment specifications.
- Monitor field operations to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Analyze performance data to identify improvements and implement lessons learned.
- Participate in risk assessments, management of change (MOC) processes, and technical reviews.
- Support the integration of new technologies and innovative practices in field operations.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or Technology with a minimum of Second Class Upper (2.1).
- No more than 3 years of engineering experience since graduation.
- Fluent in spoken and written English, especially for technical communication.
- Must possess NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
- Willingness and ability to travel and work offshore and/or internationally in rotational schedules.
Preferred:
- Internship or project experience in drilling, completions, or well operations.
- Familiarity with drilling engineering software (e.g., Landmark, WellCat, StressCheck).
- Demonstrated leadership in academic or professional settings.
