Job Description

One Acre Fund is hiring a Grants Finance Manager to oversee the financial management of its grants portfolio and support strategic funding operations across programs. The role involves managing grant budgets, financial reporting, compliance, audits, and stakeholder coordination to ensure efficient and transparent grant utilization.

Location: Nigeria
Contract Duration: 2 years (renewable to a permanent role based on performance)

Key Responsibilities

Grant Proposal Development & Financial Strategy

  • Develop and manage grant budgets aligned with organizational and donor requirements.
  • Lead budget preparation processes and ensure financial data accuracy.
  • Provide financial guidance to fundraising teams during proposal development.
  • Review grant agreements and funding terms to protect financial and operational interests.
  • Coordinate with program teams to validate project milestones and budget feasibility.

Grant Reporting & Compliance

  • Monitor grant expenditures and ensure compliance with donor regulations and reporting deadlines.
  • Prepare and review financial reports for funders and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead grant-specific audit preparations and maintain complete supporting documentation.
  • Support program teams with financial guidance and documentation standards.

Systems Management & Process Improvement

  • Validate grant and financial data within Salesforce and Power BI systems.
  • Develop automated reports and standardized templates to improve operational efficiency.
  • Enhance internal grants management processes and reduce compliance risks.
  • Implement long-term system improvements to support evolving funding requirements.

Stakeholder Engagement & Support

  • Collaborate with finance, fundraising, and operational teams across departments.
  • Communicate financial insights and grant updates to key stakeholders.
  • Support organizational decision-making through financial analysis and reporting.

Job Requirements

Interested candidates should possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree or relevant professional certifications will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in finance and accounting roles.
  • Proven experience managing grants within the development or nonprofit sector.
  • Strong knowledge of grants budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, especially Salesforce.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial data analysis skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex financial datasets and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluency in English.
