Airtel Nigeria is hiring a Head of Agency Banking to lead the nationwide expansion and optimization of its agency banking network. The role is responsible for driving growth strategies, ensuring compliance, overseeing agent recruitment, managing POS infrastructure, and strengthening performance monitoring across regions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a national strategy for agency banking growth, agent network expansion, and digital inclusion.
  • Oversee aggregator recruitment and management, ensuring high agent activity and operational efficiency.
  • Provide end-to-end oversight of POS terminal lifecycle, including deployment, maintenance, and system integration.
  • Monitor performance metrics, analyze transaction data, and deliver reports to executive management with actionable insights.
  • Ensure compliance with CBN regulations and internal policies while implementing fraud prevention and risk control measures.
  • Strengthen Airtel’s brand visibility across agent locations through consistent branding and POSM deployment.
  • Lead, coach, and inspire regional teams while collaborating with cross-functional departments to achieve business goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in agency banking, fintech, payments, or retail distribution, with at least 4 years in senior leadership.
  • Proven track record in scaling agent banking or similar distribution networks.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in cross-functional collaboration and team management.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial inclusion, digital payments, and POS technologies.
  • Strong commercial acumen, analytical mindset, and ability to drive operational excellence.
