Job Description

KALTANI is seeking an experienced Head of Engineering to lead the design, development, and optimization of recycling parks, RDF lines, and waste-to-energy facilities. The role focuses on driving operational efficiency, infrastructure reliability, safety compliance, and technology integration across engineering operations while supporting sustainable waste management initiatives.

Net Salary: N20,000,000 – N21,000,000 Per Annum

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, engineering design, and construction of recycling and composting facilities.
• Oversee plant layouts, machinery installation, utilities, and facility construction to ensure compliance with technical and environmental standards.
• Manage maintenance programs, asset lifecycle strategies, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve plant efficiency.
• Drive the adoption of automation, AI, and IoT-enabled systems across engineering operations.
• Supervise vendor selection, equipment commissioning, and contractor management for critical plant infrastructure.
• Ensure all engineering activities comply with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Build and mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams across mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering functions.
• Collaborate with procurement, operations, and project development teams to ensure timely project delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in plant engineering, industrial operations, or manufacturing infrastructure.
• Proven experience designing or managing recycling, waste-to-energy, or industrial plants.
• Strong technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering systems.
• Professional Engineering certification such as COREN or P.Eng is an added advantage.
• Strong leadership, project management, and process optimization skills.
• Experience with automation technologies, innovation systems, and operational efficiency improvements.
