Job Description

A leading palm oil retail and distribution company is seeking an experienced Head of Marketing to drive brand growth, expand market reach, and increase sales performance. The role focuses on developing and executing strategic marketing initiatives within the Nigerian edible oil market, particularly across retail and distribution channels in Abuja and surrounding regions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic marketing plans to drive sales growth and brand visibility
  • Identify and expand into new retail channels including supermarkets, open markets, and hospitality outlets
  • Lead brand positioning efforts including messaging, packaging, and digital marketing strategies
  • Manage and mentor a team of marketing professionals and field sales agents
  • Build and maintain relationships with distributors, retailers, and key business partners
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer behavior to optimize strategies

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience in Marketing or Sales, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Prior experience in the FMCG or Agribusiness sector, preferably within the palm oil or edible oil industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or professional certifications (e.g., NIMN, CIM) are an added advantage
  • Strong understanding of Abuja’s retail market and distribution networks
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and digital marketing skills
  • Proven ability to work with data and deliver measurable results
