Head of Operations
Job Description
A reputable financial institution in the financial services sector is seeking an experienced Head of Operations to drive operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and service efficiency. The role is responsible for overseeing daily banking operations, strengthening internal controls, optimizing processes, and leading branch and back-office teams to support business growth and enhance customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee daily operational activities including account opening, transaction processing, cash management, loan disbursement, and recovery support.
• Ensure seamless and efficient operations across branches and all service channels.
• Review, streamline, and optimize operational processes to improve efficiency and reduce turnaround time.
• Ensure strict compliance with Central Bank regulations, internal policies, and operational guidelines.
• Strengthen internal control systems to minimize operational risks, losses, and errors.
• Supervise branch operations to maintain consistent service quality and customer experience standards.
• Oversee alternative banking channels such as POS, mobile banking, and agent banking operations where applicable.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the operations team to achieve performance targets.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Banking & Finance, Operations Management, or a related field.
• 8–10 years’ experience in banking or financial services operations, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
• Experience in microfinance banking or retail banking operations is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of banking operations, regulatory requirements, and internal control frameworks.
• Proficiency in core banking systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong operational, leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• High attention to detail with strong risk awareness and customer service orientation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Compensation and Benefits
• Salary: N500,000 – N700,000 monthly
