M-KOPA, a leading fintech company delivering transformative financial services across Africa, is hiring a Head of Product Design to lead its strategic design vision. This role offers the opportunity to shape user experiences that directly impact financial inclusion across emerging markets. Candidates should be based in or willing to relocate to one of M-KOPA’s operational markets, as the role involves regular regional travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and lead the strategic direction of the Product Design function.
- Collaborate with Product and Tech leadership to drive UX strategy across platforms.
- Build and manage scalable design systems that balance consistency with innovation.
- Mentor and guide the design team, ensuring growth and high-quality output.
- Ensure visual alignment across product, brand, and marketing experiences.
- Translate design outcomes into business-relevant metrics for stakeholder visibility.
Requirements:
Applicants should demonstrate the following:
- Strong experience leading design teams and managing digital product projects.
- Proficiency in UX strategy, with the ability to balance user needs and business goals.
- Prior success building and maintaining multi-platform design systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional, multi-national teams.
- Background in fintech or related digital industries is an advantage.
