Job Description
Amaiden Energy Nigeria Limited is seeking an experienced Head of Purchasing to lead purchasing operations, ensure compliance with company standards, and manage a team responsible for high-value procurement activities. The role requires strong negotiation skills, deep industry knowledge, and the ability to optimize purchasing outcomes across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance of purchasing activities with company policies, legal requirements, PSC/PSA rules, and industry regulations.
- Supervise and coordinate a team of buyers, ensuring proper administration, documentation, and audit readiness.
- Review all Purchase Requisitions, evaluate vendor quotes, recommend suppliers, and oversee Purchase Order creation and follow-up until delivery.
- Lead complex negotiations and manage high-value or high-risk purchases using company-approved terms and conditions.
- Ensure accurate data entry into SAP and collaborate with P2P teams to resolve vendor payment issues.
- Monitor PR and PO performance, expedite deliveries, and escalate exceptions when necessary.
- Develop, implement, and manage Frame/Outline Agreements and enforce the use of e-sourcing tools.
- Conduct vendor performance evaluations and drive continuous improvements in procurement efficiency.
- Identify savings opportunities on all purchases and ensure risk-free contractual commitments.
- Align with HSE rules, participate in HSE programs, and take proactive measures to prevent operational hazards.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Management, Social Sciences, or Purchasing & Supply (preferred).
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in purchasing within the international oil and gas industry.
- Strong analytical ability and proven experience proposing practical procurement solutions.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Membership of relevant supply chain or operational professional bodies is an added advantage.
- Excellent communication skills and strong command of the English language.
- Commitment to HSE standards and regulatory compliance.
