Job Overview:
A reputable Special Needs School in Abuja is seeking a seasoned Head of School/Principal with extensive experience working with neurodivergent children. This role requires strong leadership, a passion for inclusive education, and the ability to manage specialized academic programs. The successful candidate will oversee educational planning, staff coordination, and implementation of individualized learning strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the academic and administrative functions of the school, ensuring compliance with special education standards.
- Lead and support multidisciplinary staff teams to implement inclusive best practices for neurodivergent learners.
- Review, supervise, and lead the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), including parent and team meetings.
- Develop and maintain strong communication with parents, stakeholders, and educational professionals.
- Monitor and evaluate instructional programs, ensuring continuous improvement and staff development.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Special Education, Clinical Psychology, Guidance and Counseling, or Educational Administration and Planning.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in special education, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Demonstrated ability to manage educational staff and lead school-wide initiatives.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational ability and experience managing inclusive educational settings.
