Job Description
Engie Africa is hiring a Lead Data Analyst to join its Global Data Team, which spans multiple countries including Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria, and Germany. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to expanding financial and energy services for off-grid communities across Africa. The successful candidate will support data analysis and infrastructure, empower local teams with actionable insights, and improve the overall quality and accessibility of data across nine African markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with analysts, strategists, and global teams to design dashboards and generate insightful reports.
- Train and support over 50 analysts and data users across multiple markets on SQL, dashboards, and data tools.
- Guide infrastructure decisions by liaising with data users and aligning technical development with business impact.
- Investigate and resolve data integrity issues, ensuring the reliability of reporting pipelines.
- Prioritize data project requests based on their operational and strategic importance.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- At least 5 years of experience in a data analysis or data engineering role.
- Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work across cultures and teams.
- Experience with Python, R, AWS data tools (RDS, Redshift, S3), and project tracking tools like JIRA is an advantage.
- Fluency in English; additional languages such as French, Portuguese, or Swahili are a plus.
