Job Description

A mission-driven technology company is seeking a Lead Frontend Engineer to take charge of development and guide a small engineering team on its flagship product. The role involves shaping secure, high-performance software that supports professionals in complex and sensitive sectors, with a strong focus on collaboration and long-term product growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance responsive user interfaces using React, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
  • Provide technical leadership to a small team of developers through mentoring, code reviews, and career support.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to deliver user-focused solutions.
  • Integrate applications with RESTful and GraphQL APIs for efficient data handling.
  • Promote best practices in testing, performance optimization, and maintainable code.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Proven track record of delivering frontend projects from concept to production.
  • Previous experience leading or mentoring a team of developers.
  • Proficiency in working with REST and/or GraphQL APIs.
  • Familiarity with scalable frontend structures, component libraries, and design systems.
  • Solid understanding of testing strategies and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in a remote-first setting.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with MobX or other state management tools.
  • Knowledge of AWS, GitHub Actions, or CircleCI.
  • Exposure to data visualization or geospatial mapping tools.
  • Background in regulated or compliance-focused software environments.

Salary: Up to £85,000 + Benefits
