Job Description
Visionhood Limited is seeking a highly skilled Lead Researcher to spearhead a large-scale education and child protection research project to be conducted in Rwanda. This full-time role requires advanced research expertise in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), strong project management capabilities, and experience in ethical data collection with vulnerable populations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the design and implementation of mixed-methods research in primary school safety and foundational learning outcomes in Rwanda.
- Coordinate national-level surveys, ethical approvals, logistics, and qualitative fieldwork.
- Collaborate with stakeholders including government, NGOs, and donors, and present findings in clear, policy-relevant formats.
- Supervise consultancy teams, enumerators, and partner organizations involved in research delivery.
Core Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Education, Project Management, Development Studies, or related social sciences.
- Minimum of 10 years managing large-scale research or education projects in LMICs, preferably within East Africa.
- Proficiency in quantitative (SPSS, Stata, R) and qualitative (NVivo, Atlas.ti) research tools.
- Demonstrated experience with safeguarding and ethical research involving children.
- Familiarity with digital data collection platforms such as KoboToolbox and ODK.
Preferred Experience:
- Background in DFID/FCDO-funded programs, especially within Rwanda.
- Understanding of the Rwandan education system and local languages.
- Prior involvement in studies on out-of-school children, corporal punishment, or inclusive education.
Relocation Note:
Candidates must be able to reliably commute to or plan relocation to Lagos prior to the start date.
