Job Description
A reputable film manufacturing company in Ibadan is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to manage mechanical and utility operations during assigned shifts. This role is suited to professionals with hands-on experience in continuous process manufacturing environments, particularly film production, who can ensure smooth operations, equipment reliability, and compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end mechanical and utility operations during assigned shifts
- Ensure uninterrupted operation of Blown Film, Printing, Slitting, and utility-related mechanical systems
- Carry out maintenance of blown film lines, extrusion systems, winding machines, and auxiliary equipment
- Plan and execute preventive and breakdown maintenance to reduce downtime and improve reliability
- Oversee building maintenance, utilities, and safety equipment
- Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Participate in energy optimization and efficiency improvement programs
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines
- Collaborate with team members to improve technical competence and operational productivity
Requirements and Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an industrial mechanical engineering role
- Prior experience in a film manufacturing plant or continuous process industry is an advantage
- Strong hands-on experience with mechanical and utility systems
- Familiarity with film manufacturing machinery, automation, and production processes
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices, energy management, and safety standards
- Ability to work effectively in a shift-based operational environment
