Medical Biller – Full Revenue Cycle (Physical Therapy)

Job Description

A leading physical therapy network is seeking an experienced Medical Biller to join its remote billing team. This position requires strong knowledge of the full revenue cycle, including charge entry, claims submission, payment posting, and denial management. The ideal candidate will have recent hands-on billing experience in a medical specialty, home health, or hospital setting and be skilled at managing high-volume claims efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full revenue cycle billing, including charge entry, claims submission, payment posting, denial management, appeals, and collections
• Process and follow up on insurance claims (commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, multi-state payers)
• Resolve claim issues, handle denials and appeals, and ensure timely reimbursements
• Post payments accurately, reconcile accounts, and identify discrepancies
• Respond to patient billing inquiries and coordinate with providers and internal teams
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, payer regulations, and CMS guidelines

Job Requirements

• 12–24+ months of recent (within the last 6 months) full revenue cycle medical billing experience in a medical specialty, home health, or hospital setting
• Proficiency in EMR and clearinghouse systems (Athena, eClinicalWorks, Waystar, Change Healthcare preferred)
• Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
• Strong Excel and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
• Must reside in one of the eligible states listed above

Preferred Backgrounds (Not Qualifying)
Experience limited to front desk, scheduling, pharmacy, mental health, substance abuse, dental, vision, or medical supply billing will not qualify. Physical therapy billing experience is highly preferred.

• $17–$19/hour (based on experience)
