St Luke’s Hospital, Asaba, is seeking a qualified and experienced Optometrist to support the delivery of high-quality eye care services. This role involves working closely with the Consultant Ophthalmologist to assess, diagnose, and manage patients’ visual and eye health concerns.
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive eye exams and vision assessments using advanced diagnostic equipment
- Prescribe and fit corrective lenses, including glasses and contact lenses
- Educate patients on proper eye care, visual hygiene, and treatment options
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with healthcare regulations
- Support the supervision and guidance of clinical staff to ensure best practices in patient care
Requirements:
- Doctor of Optometry (O.D) from a recognized institution
- Valid license and certification from the Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Registration Board of Nigeria
- NYSC discharge or exemption certificate is mandatory
- Minimum of 2 years post-NYSC clinical experience
- Proficient in computer usage and patient management systems
- Strong diagnostic, organizational, and patient-focused skills
- Residency in Asaba or willingness to relocate is required
- Additional training in Family Medicine is an advantage
