Pharmacologist (Community Pharmacy)
Job Description
A reputable pharmacy is seeking a qualified Pharmacologist to support safe medication use, patient counseling, and pharmacological evaluations in a community pharmacy setting. The role involves offering clinical expertise on drug mechanisms, interactions, and therapeutic recommendations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide expert guidance on drug interactions, pharmacological effects, and therapeutic use.
- Assist with prescription reviews to ensure accuracy, legality, and proper dosing.
- Monitor, document, and report adverse drug reactions as part of pharmacovigilance practices.
- Counsel patients on medication adherence, side effects, and lifestyle considerations.
- Support pharmacist-led initiatives in chronic disease education and community health awareness.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or postgraduate qualification in Pharmacology.
- 2 to 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in a community or clinical pharmacy.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and drug safety.
- Excellent communication skills, especially for patient education.
- Familiarity with local regulatory guidelines such as NAFDAC and PCN is an advantage.
