Job Description
The Pharmacovigilance Officer, Team Leader role is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing Individual Case Safety Report (ICSR) management across assigned projects. This role provides strategic and operational leadership, ensures high-quality pharmacovigilance delivery, and manages a team of ICSR professionals while maintaining strong client collaboration and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the ICSR management team for assigned projects or a group of projects as Team Leader
- Ensure effective task allocation and oversee end-to-end workflow for assigned projects
- Support and maintain effective cooperation with clients in the area of ICSR Management
- Provide operational support to other project activities delivered on behalf of the client
- Line manage assigned ICSR staff, including performance management and development
- Create and maintain project-specific KPIs for contracted ICSR activities, including optimizing procedures, training, and efficiency initiatives
- Propose and support implementation of process improvements in collaboration with the ICSR Operational Lead
- Manage ICSR deviations with support from the ICSR Operational Lead
- Review trackers and timesheet data to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Participate in ICSR processing and second-level quality control of cases
- Act as subject matter expert for the assigned team and support other SMEs
Requirements / Qualifications
- Degree in life sciences, pharmacy, nursing, or other healthcare-related qualification, or relevant pharmacovigilance experience
- Extensive experience in pharmacovigilance with demonstrated line management experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Proven delegation, planning, and time management skills
- Strong technical competence in pharmacovigilance systems and workflows
- Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional and multicultural teams
