Job Description
Stanley & Akatu HR Partners Africa is hiring a PR & Communications Specialist to support media relations, content development, and public relations campaigns across multiple client accounts. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced communications professional with excellent writing skills, strong media relationships, and a solid understanding of the Nigerian media landscape. The successful candidate will work closely with the PR Account Manager to execute impactful communication strategies and deliver high quality content.

Key Responsibilities
- Draft, edit, and distribute press releases, media alerts, pitch notes, opinion articles, newsletters, blog posts, and social media content.
- Build, maintain, and expand targeted media lists while developing professional relationships with journalists, editors, and media stakeholders.
- Pitch stories to print, broadcast, digital, and online media while responding to media enquiries professionally and promptly.
- Monitor daily media coverage, prepare coverage reports, and provide qualitative analysis of campaign performance.
- Support the planning, execution, and reporting of public relations campaigns across multiple client accounts.
- Coordinate media engagements including interviews, press briefings, product launches, and press tours.
- Prepare briefing documents, talking points, Q&A documents, and other communication materials for client representatives.
- Ensure all written content is accurate, polished, aligned with client objectives, and delivered within deadlines.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging media opportunities relevant to client portfolios.
- Maintain organized records of campaign assets, media interactions, approvals, and project deliverables.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- Membership of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) or the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR).
- Minimum of four (4) years of post-university experience in Public Relations, Journalism, or Corporate Communications.
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills with the ability to produce compelling content under deadlines.
- Excellent understanding of the Nigerian media landscape, newsroom operations, editorial processes, and media relations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a hybrid work environment.
- Proficiency in media monitoring platforms, social media scheduling tools, and collaborative digital workspaces.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and relationship management skills.
- High attention to detail, professionalism, and commitment to producing accurate work.
- Experience working in a PR agency and an existing network of Nigerian media contacts will be an added advantage.
- Familiarity with sectors such as FMCG, Financial Services, Entertainment, or the Public Sector is desirable.
- Experience using media monitoring and analytics tools is an advantage.
