Reports to: Executive Director
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Program Officer to join our team in Abuja. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and evaluating programs that address critical social development challenges, particularly those affecting youth and women. This role requires a passionate individual with strong organizational skills and a deep understanding of community development in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement development programs aligned with organizational objectives, ensuring they address identified community needs.
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, utilizing established frameworks and tools to measure impact.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including NGOs, community leaders, and government agencies, to enhance program outcomes.
- Prepare detailed program reports, proposals, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage program budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to financial guidelines.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Administration, International Relations, or a related field. A master’s degree is an advantage.
Experience:
- 2–5 years of program management experience, preferably within an NGO or community development setting.
Skills and Competencies:
- In-depth understanding of social development challenges in Nigeria, with a focus on youth and women.
- Proven experience in program design, implementation, and evaluation.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management tools.
- Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is an added advantage.
