Quality Assurance Officer – Freight Forwarding

Job Description

A logistics and freight forwarding company is seeking a Quality Assurance Officer to oversee operational quality and compliance across port locations. The role focuses on monitoring logistics processes, conducting operational audits, and ensuring adherence to internal standards and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will help identify operational gaps, implement corrective actions, and support improvements that enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.

Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: N500,000 – N700,000 per month

Responsibilities

• Monitor operational activities across port locations to ensure compliance with company SOPs and quality standards.
• Conduct operational audits to assess adherence to regulatory requirements and internal processes.
• Identify quality and compliance gaps and develop Corrective and Preventive Action Plans (CAPA).
• Perform root cause analysis on operational failures and recommend process improvements.
• Track quality assurance metrics, operational KPIs, and performance dashboards.
• Prepare periodic quality assurance and audit reports for management review.
• Collaborate with operations and commercial teams to improve service delivery and operational performance.
• Lead training sessions for operational teams on quality standards and compliance practices.
• Maintain documentation for operational audits, quality reports, and compliance records.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in quality assurance, freight forwarding, logistics operations, or port operations.
• Experience conducting operational audits and managing compliance processes.
• Strong understanding of freight forwarding operations, port logistics, and customs clearance processes.
• Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement Corrective and Preventive Action Plans (CAPA).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or similar data analysis and reporting tools.
• Knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) and operational performance monitoring tools.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
