Job Description
O’Spaces Nigeria Limited is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to support the financial and commercial management of building construction projects from inception to completion. This role focuses on accurate cost control, contract administration, procurement support, and value optimization to ensure projects are delivered within budget and in line with specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and accurate bills of quantities based on drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Review tender documents, contracts, and variations in collaboration with project teams and stakeholders.
- Analyze project costs covering materials, labour, and equipment to ensure budget compliance.
- Prepare and submit procurement requisitions for materials and equipment.
- Monitor project expenses, track variations, and produce regular cost control and variance reports.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to verify work progress and contractual compliance.
- Manage contractual processes including negotiations, change orders, claims, and dispute resolution.
- Prepare and review interim and final valuations, payment applications, and invoices for contractors and subcontractors.
- Carry out cost analysis and risk assessments to support informed decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the building construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of quantity surveying principles, cost estimation techniques, contracts, and relevant construction legislation.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills with strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects.
- Professional certifications or memberships are an added advantage.
