Job Description

The Regional Manager role is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the performance, quality, and operational effectiveness of a group of schools within an assigned territory in Katsina State. This position provides strategic oversight to Schools Supervisors, supports instructional excellence, strengthens community and government relationships, and ensures schools meet agreed operational and learning benchmarks. The role is field-based and requires regular presence across multiple school locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Schools Supervisors within the assigned territory to ensure high standards of school operations and instructional performance.
  • Collaborate with the Training Manager to translate field feedback into improved training content, systems, and processes for Teachers and School Heads.
  • Provide management oversight to Schools Supervisors to ensure operational performance and instructional learning targets are achieved.
  • Coach and mentor Schools Supervisors to strengthen leadership, people management, and performance delivery.
  • Ensure instructional leadership standards are upheld, including lesson completion, positive classroom management without corporal punishment, and student retention.
  • Take full accountability for the performance metrics of all schools in the assigned region based on operational and instructional benchmarks.
  • Maintain consistent presence in schools and foster bi-directional communication with School Heads and School Administrators.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with local and state government officials, traditional leaders, community stakeholders, and parents.
  • Monitor stakeholder feedback and promote the importance of education across assigned communities.
  • Travel daily to schools located across different communities within the assigned state.

Requirements

  • Education degree is mandatory, with a minimum of 5 years of professional work experience.
  • Proven experience in community-based work, field management, people management, and programme management.
  • Demonstrated team leadership experience with the ability to coach, mentor, and motivate others.
  • Strong track record of driving results in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Excellent practical problem-solving, multitasking, and prioritisation skills.
  • Prior experience engaging with government officials and community leaders.
  • Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Data-driven mindset with strong adherence to processes and procedures.
  • Passion for education, schooling, and service delivery in low-income communities.
  • Cultural sensitivity and respect for gender, ethnic, and religious diversity.
  • Maturity and confidence when engaging senior government and institutional stakeholders.
  • Willingness to have difficult conversations and take a firm, results-driven approach when required.
  • High level of energy and enthusiasm to operate effectively in a demanding, field-based role.
