Job Description
A leading innovation hub in Nigeria is seeking a Safeguarding Lead to support the GATEWAY Program. The role focuses on safeguarding, gender equity, and child protection, ensuring safe, inclusive environments that uphold dignity and international best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and review safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Conduct safeguarding risk assessments and oversee incident response mechanisms.
- Deliver training and build the capacity of staff, partners, and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and donors to strengthen safeguarding systems.
- Monitor compliance, maintain records, and provide regular safeguarding reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Gender Studies, Human Rights, International Development, or related field.
- At least 7 years’ experience in safeguarding, gender equity, or child protection.
- Proven expertise in designing and managing safeguarding frameworks within Africa.
- Strong knowledge of global safeguarding and child protection standards (e.g., UNCRC).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
