Job Description

A global education technology company is hiring a Senior Account Executive to drive business growth across the Japanese market. This role focuses on acquiring new clients and expanding existing accounts within education and research institutions. It is suited for a results-driven sales professional with strong experience in SaaS, relationship management, and closing complex deals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive new business growth by identifying, qualifying, and closing opportunities across K–12, higher education, and assessment sectors
  • Expand existing accounts by uncovering cross-sell opportunities and strengthening client relationships
  • Manage the full sales cycle, including prospecting, negotiation, closing, forecasting, and pipeline management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including educators and institutional leaders
  • Deliver consultative sales solutions tailored to client needs and institutional challenges
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as Product, Marketing, and Customer Success to ensure a seamless customer experience
  • Use CRM tools, analytics, and market insights to prioritize opportunities and optimize territory performance
  • Represent the company through presentations, product demos, and industry engagements
  • Maintain accurate sales records, forecasts, and reporting using Salesforce and other tools
  • Stay updated on education and research industry trends and market developments
  • Travel up to 25% to engage with clients and support sales activities

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in quota-carrying SaaS sales with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding targets
  • Proven ability to generate, manage, and close complex deals across multiple stakeholders
  • Strong consultative selling and storytelling skills with the ability to connect product value to customer needs
  • Solid understanding of institutional procurement processes and decision-making cycles
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and able to work independently in a remote environment
  • Fluent/native Japanese and business-level English
  • Bachelor’s degree required
