A global enterprise software company is seeking an experienced Senior Account Executive to drive sales growth within the upstream oil and gas sector. This role focuses on managing existing client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering tailored technology solutions that enhance operational performance. Location: Houston, United States (Remote)
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: $130,000 – $150,000 annually + commission

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive sales campaigns targeting both existing customers and new prospects within the upstream oil and gas industry
  • Develop and maintain strong industry knowledge, including market trends and competitor activities
  • Build and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets across software, services, and managed solutions
  • Manage and update sales pipelines and forecasts consistently using CRM tools
  • Meet and exceed quarterly and annual sales quotas
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as finance, operations, and legal to ensure successful deal execution
  • Present account updates, forecasts, and performance insights to senior management
  • Negotiate pricing and contractual terms in line with company policies
  • Identify and build relationships with strategic partners and industry influencers
  • Travel as required (up to 50%) to support client engagement and business development

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in enterprise software sales or a related field
  • Proven ability to close complex, multi-stakeholder deals, particularly in IT or oil and gas technology
  • Strong understanding of the upstream oil and gas industry
  • Experience managing both new business development and existing accounts
  • Confidence engaging with senior executives and decision-makers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience using CRM systems for sales and account management
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Highly organized, results-driven, and capable of building relationships with key stakeholders
