Job Description

A reputable automobile company, Delog Nigeria Limited, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee financial operations, ensure accurate reporting, and strengthen internal controls. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to lead accounting processes and teams effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
• Prepare accurate financial reports and present results to management
• Analyze financial data and provide insights on financial status and performance
• Identify errors and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and cost management
• Review and improve accounting systems and procedures
• Manage and supervise accounting assistants and bookkeepers
• Prepare financial statements and budgets according to schedule
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes
• Ensure compliance with IFRS principles and financial regulations
• Coordinate internal and external audits
• Assist with tax audits and tax returns
• Collaborate with management to improve financial procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree or MBA is an advantage)
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and analysis
• Proven experience managing an accounting team
• Solid understanding of budgeting and forecasting
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Professional certification such as ACCA, ICAN, or CPA is required
• Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
• Experience in the automobile industry is an added advantage
