A reputable organization in the oil and gas sector is seeking to recruit a Senior CBM Technician to support its offshore operations in Nigeria. This role involves condition-based monitoring, diagnostics, and hands-on maintenance of rotating equipment to ensure reliability and optimal performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform vibration analysis including data collection, interpretation, first-level diagnostics, and reporting using tools such as CSI, SKF, and Bently Nevada.
- Conduct infrared thermography surveys on electrical and mechanical systems to identify hotspots, insulation issues, and abnormalities.
- Oversee lubrication and oil analysis procedures, including sampling, contamination detection, and use of oil analysis software.
- Operate and monitor condition monitoring systems (PI System/OSIsoft or similar) for real-time data on temperature, pressure, and vibration.
- Carry out hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and refurbishment of pumps, compressors, motors, and turbines, including bearing and seal replacement.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings and P&IDs to support maintenance and repair activities.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 5 years’ offshore oil and gas experience in mechanical maintenance and condition monitoring.
- Higher National Diploma (HND) or higher qualification in Mechanical/Production Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of vibration monitoring, oil analysis, infrared thermography, and rotating equipment maintenance.
- Proven ability to collect and analyze vibration data, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
- Familiarity with spectrographic oil analysis and monitoring of pumps and turbines using online process data (PI).
