Job Description

A growing organization is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Security Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and management of secure cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cloud security, risk management, compliance, and DevSecOps practices, with the ability to safeguard critical systems and sensitive data across modern cloud infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure cloud architectures across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Develop, enforce, and continuously improve cloud security policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Monitor cloud environments for security threats, vulnerabilities, and configuration weaknesses, ensuring timely remediation.
  • Lead cloud security risk assessments, threat modeling exercises, and security improvement initiatives.
  • Integrate security controls and automated security testing into CI/CD pipelines to support DevSecOps practices.
  • Manage Identity and Access Management (IAM), encryption solutions, key management systems, and cloud network security controls.
  • Conduct security audits, incident investigations, and forensic analysis within cloud-based environments.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior security professionals and engineering teams.
  • Work closely with compliance and governance teams to support regulatory and industry standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, and related frameworks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of cybersecurity experience, including at least three (3) years focused on cloud security.
  • Previous experience working with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) or other highly sensitive data platforms.
  • Strong hands-on experience securing AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform environments.
  • Solid knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM), SIEM solutions, CASB technologies, cloud-native security tools, and network security concepts.
  • Experience securing containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
  • Strong understanding of security frameworks and standards including NIST, CIS Controls, and ISO 27001.
  • Scripting and automation experience using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar technologies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
