Job Description

The Senior Financial Accountant will play a vital role in ensuring financial integrity, compliance, and operational efficiency. This position supports the Chief Financial Officer in maintaining accurate financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, and guiding strategic decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly and quarterly financial reports for management and board presentations.
  • Maintain accuracy of financial statements, general ledger, and all accounting records.
  • Oversee tax compliance, including PAYE, VAT, WHT, and company income tax filings.
  • Manage annual and interim audits, providing necessary documentation and schedules.
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity planning to support business operations.
  • Strengthen internal financial control systems and ensure adherence to company policies.
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting team members to maintain operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, or ICAN) is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in financial reporting for regulated entities such as SEC or NGX.
  • Strong background in fund management, asset management, or brokerage is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting and ERP software such as QuickBooks or Xero.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
