Job Description
UPDC PLC is recruiting a Senior Investment Analyst to support real estate investment decisions across development, acquisitions, and portfolio management. This role involves advanced financial modelling, project performance analysis, feasibility assessments, and stakeholder reporting to drive commercially sound outcomes across multiple asset classes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-quality, comprehensive real estate financial models to support development projects, acquisitions, investments, business planning, and forecasting.
- Provide regular updates to financial models based on changing assumptions during pre-contract development phases.
- Monitor ongoing projects and conduct variance analysis on performance (actual vs budget).
- Prepare reliable project performance reports for internal and external stakeholders, including pipeline analysis, forecasts, comparable developments/companies, trends, valuation drivers, and key risks.
- Evaluate investment opportunities across asset classes (residential, commercial, hospitality, mixed-use) and provide recommendations to optimize viability and returns.
- Analyze project feasibility and support transaction structuring, joint ventures, and financing using scenario analysis.
- Collaborate with development teams on long-term commercial planning and financial growth initiatives.
- Support alignment of financial and delivery data, including work package reviews and tender evaluation analysis.
- Review valuation and consultant reports; verify payment requests, vendor invoices, and supporting documentation.
- Prepare documents and presentations for stakeholder updates on financial performance.
- Maintain a portfolio dashboard covering development status and financial performance.
- Monitor macroeconomic indicators, interest rates, inflation, and regulatory changes affecting real estate.
- Support legal, technical, and financial due diligence for transactions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a numerate and analytical field such as Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Engineering.
- Postgraduate qualification in finance/business, Chartered Accountant, and/or CFA is an advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in real estate, investment banking, corporate finance, private equity, finance, or strategy consulting.
- Proven experience in complex financial analysis, financial modelling, valuations, and comparable company analysis.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and research skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and Word; working knowledge of accounting software.
- Strong project and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and build effective business relationships.
- Strong interest in professional development and continuous learning.
