Job Description
PWAN Group, a leading real estate and investment organization, is seeking a Senior Legal Officer to enhance its Legal and Compliance operations. The ideal candidate will provide expert legal advisory services, manage property documentation, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the company’s strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advisory support to management and operational teams on corporate, commercial, and property-related matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, deeds, MOUs, SLAs, and other legal documents.
- Handle title verification, due diligence, and ensure compliance with real estate and regulatory requirements.
- Represent the organization in dealings with external counsel, regulatory agencies, and government bodies.
- Manage internal legal documentation systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies for mitigation.
- Supervise junior legal personnel and support their professional development.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized institution.
- Called to the Nigerian Bar.
- Minimum of 5 years post-call experience in Corporate, Property, or Commercial Law (experience in the real estate sector is an advantage).
- Strong knowledge of land processes, contract law, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication, drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- High ethical standards, discretion, and sound professional judgment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Must have completed NYSC and reside in Lagos, preferably within the Lekki/Ajah axis.
