Job Description

An international contracting organization is seeking an experienced Senior Project Cost Controller to manage and oversee project financial performance. This role is critical to ensuring effective cost planning, monitoring, forecasting, and financial risk control across large-scale projects, with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Control and monitor total project costs, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cost-saving measures.
  • Provide timely, accurate financial and planning information to Project Managers and relevant stakeholders.
  • Verify and validate costs from vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors, ensuring all expenditures are accurately captured and recorded.
  • Identify and manage financial risks, including currency exchange and tax-related risks, and recommend mitigation measures.
  • Review tender documents and establish detailed project budgets and cost baselines.
  • Control project budgets against actual and forecasted figures, including detailed variance analysis.
  • Initiate project invoices, collate supporting documentation, and follow up with clients to ensure timely payments.
  • Review subcontractor invoices for accuracy and ensure payments align with contractual agreements.
  • Maintain proper documentation for WBS, milestones, change orders, and variations for invoicing and audit purposes.
  • Support the preparation of financial sections of project close-out reports and maintain financial databases.
  • Ensure all financial reports comply with company standards and project requirements.

Job Requirements

  • BSc in Accounting, Business Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • PMP certification preferred; ICAN or equivalent professional certification is an advantage.
  • Relevant cost control or project finance training is desirable.
  • Minimum of 10–12 years’ experience in a financial project environment within international contracting or engineering businesses.
  • Strong ability to prepare project budgets, financial reports, and forecasts.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP.
