Senior Structural Engineer
Job Description
An engineering firm is seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to support tenders and offshore projects. The role requires expertise in structural engineering principles, design codes, legislative requirements, and best engineering practices to ensure the integrity and stability of complex offshore structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct structural stability and integrity calculations for subsea and offshore structures.
- Design structural members to withstand in-service, installation, and transportation loads.
- Prepare and review design documentation, including feasibility reports, detailed design reports, specifications, data sheets, and material take-offs (MTOs).
- Coordinate structural engineering support for multi-discipline projects, ensuring adherence to budget and schedule.
- Provide specialist engineering support during offshore or site activities as required.
- Perform concept and detailed design of lifting arrangements, steel structures, and sea fastening using advanced software like SACS.
- Review structural deliverables and ensure quality control of engineering outputs.
- Ensure compliance with contractual, legislative, regulatory, and company requirements throughout project execution.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Professional registration with the Institute of Structural Engineers.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in offshore engineering, including at least 7 years in structural engineering design.
- Proficiency in structural engineering software and relevant offshore training.
- Strong experience in engineering design and advanced analysis techniques.
