Job Description

Palmpay Limited is seeking a skilled Senior Test Development Engineer to support its mission of advancing financial inclusion across Africa. This role focuses on ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of software systems and payment channels through comprehensive testing and analysis.

Location: Opebi, Ikeja, Lagos

Responsibilities

  • Connect payment channels and conduct routing tests to ensure fast, high-quality delivery of product requirements
  • Design and execute interface test cases, configure mock platforms, and perform functional testing across channel systems
  • Handle end-to-end project testing independently while supporting standardization of development and testing processes
  • Track, identify, and resolve live system issues, including verification and implementation of quality prevention strategies
  • Collaborate with technical teams to improve testing efficiency using appropriate tools and methodologies
  • Support Java/Java EE application testing across the full software development lifecycle, from design to deployment

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in internet finance testing and development, including strong interface testing experience
  • Proficiency in interface testing tools such as JMeter, Postman, YAPI, and similar open-source platforms
  • Working knowledge of Java, with the ability to read code and understand system architecture
  • Familiarity with HTTP, Dubbo, MQ, web architecture, SQL, MongoDB, and related technologies
  • Experience in the payment or financial services industry is an added advantage
  • Strong sense of responsibility, initiative, and willingness to support critical operations when required
