Job Description

An established oil and gas services company is hiring a skilled Top Drive System Engineer to support drilling operations in Port Harcourt. This role requires expertise in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, along with hands-on troubleshooting skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor the Top Drive System during drilling, tripping, and connection operations.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic subsystems of the Top Drive System.
  • Perform inspections, lubrication, filter changes, and function tests before and after operations in line with OEM specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and repair defective components, while ensuring accurate records are updated in maintenance systems (CMMS).

Requirements

  • HND or B.Sc. in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related engineering field.
  • 5–7 years of drilling equipment maintenance experience, including at least 3 years on Top Drive Systems.
  • OEM training/certification in Top Drive Systems (Varco, Canrig, Tesco, or equivalent) highly preferred.
  • Valid offshore survival certification (BOSIET/FOET) required; IWCF Well Control certification an advantage.
  • Strong technical ability in reading wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, and troubleshooting control systems.
