Job Description

A reputable FMCG manufacturing company in Ibadan, Oyo State is seeking a skilled Utility Operations Engineer to manage and optimize utility systems within its production facility. The role is critical in ensuring uninterrupted supply of power, steam, compressed air, water, and other essential utilities that support efficient manufacturing operations.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain utility systems including boilers, air compressors, chillers, cooling towers, generators, and power distribution systems.
• Ensure continuous and reliable supply of steam, air, water, and electricity to production lines.
• Carry out preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance to minimize downtime and production disruptions.
• Monitor utility performance, track energy consumption, and implement efficiency improvement measures.
• Manage and maintain water treatment and wastewater treatment plants (WTP/WWTP).
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards at all times.
• Supervise utility technicians and coordinate external contractors when required.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, operational records, and spare parts inventory.
• Support continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives within the utilities function.

Job Requirements

• BSc or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• 3–5 years’ proven experience as a Utility Operations Engineer in an FMCG manufacturing company (mandatory).
• Strong technical knowledge of boilers, compressors, chillers, generators, power distribution systems, and treatment plants.
• Hands-on experience with preventive and corrective maintenance systems.
• Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and teamwork skills.
• Strong understanding of safety and environmental compliance standards.
