A fast-growing utilities and services provider is hiring a UX Designer to support multiple product teams in creating intuitive, accessible, and human-centred digital experiences. The role involves improving how customers interact with key communications and core transactional journeys across digital products. Key Responsibilities

Research and Discovery

  • Create research plans and conduct usability testing with real users to validate design solutions
  • Synthesise qualitative and quantitative research findings into actionable insights
  • Translate user needs and pain points into clear problem statements for product teams
  • Build understanding of product context, customer behaviour, and business objectives

Design Execution and Craft

  • Apply structured design processes and adapt methods to suit project timelines
  • Develop wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes to explore and validate design directions
  • Design clean, logical, and accessible user interfaces aligned with usability best practices
  • Ensure accessibility standards through appropriate colour contrast, typography, and interaction states
  • Produce detailed design outputs, accounting for edge cases and writing clear UX copy

Collaboration and Delivery

  • Work closely with product and engineering teams throughout discovery, design, and delivery phases
  • Communicate design rationale and interaction details clearly during engineering handoff
  • Seek and provide constructive feedback to maintain design quality across teams
  • Contribute to consistent and cohesive user experiences across multiple touchpoints

Requirements

  • Proven experience in UX design, product design, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of user-centred design principles and usability best practices
  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, or similar
  • Ability to translate complex problems into simple, intuitive user experiences
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with cross-functional teams
  • Basic understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices
  • Ability to manage multiple design initiatives across different product areas
