Short Description:
Canonical Nigeria is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Web Developer to support the development and maintenance of high-quality websites and web applications. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about web technologies, design consistency, and user experience. Candidates must be based in EMEA time zones and demonstrate experience with modern front-end tools and frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop responsive, high-fidelity websites and web applications using HTML, SCSS, JavaScript, React, and TypeScript.
  • Maintain and update existing projects by adding new content and features.
  • Collaborate with UX and visual designers to deliver seamless user experiences.
  • Ensure consistency and compliance with the company’s web style guide across all web outputs.
  • Manage and delegate incoming content update requests effectively.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working on modern web applications.
  • Strong understanding of HTML, SCSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Experience with component libraries and responsive design for multiple devices and browsers.
  • Proficiency in version control systems like Git.
  • Awareness of SEO best practices and accessibility considerations.
  • University degree or equivalent education.
  • Must be located in Europe, the Middle East, or Africa.

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with Linux desktop environments.
  • Knowledge of server-side technologies such as Python or NodeJS.
  • Experience with large-scale React projects using TypeScript.
  • Open source contributions are a plus.
