Job Description

A leading tech firm is seeking an experienced Java Developer with strong expertise in Spring Boot and a solid understanding of modern development practices. This role involves developing scalable applications and working on enterprise-level systems in a hybrid work environment based in Lagos.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable Java-based applications using the Spring Boot framework
  • Create and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, developers, and product managers
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain application performance and security

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of Java development experience
  • Proficiency with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, and Spring Data JPA
  • Strong knowledge of Java 8+, object-oriented programming, and microservices architecture
  • Familiarity with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle
  • Experience with Git, Maven or Gradle, and API tools like Postman
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is required

Preferred (Not Mandatory):

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or messaging systems like Kafka
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and unit testing with JUnit or Mockito
